First things first, I know now for future activities, I must have at all times with me a scrunchie. Big mistake on my part as I was left breaking my drawstring bag just to get the cord to tie my hair up. Points for desperate creativity? I think so lol
For my birthday I had wanted to do something fun, a group activity. We found this place in LIC that recreates Call of Duty in laser tag mode. The challenge? Actually pairing the schedule of 8+ people. We had to cancel this twice so I have yet to do it and so a month later we decided on celebrating at twilight on Manhattan by Sail.
The funny thing is I was 2 minutes short from missing this too! Amanda was literally waving us down by the entrance of the boat yelling "Run!" so you can imagine how embarrassed I was to walk on the boat knowing I was the hold up. Luckily we got on and snuck to the front to avoid any further attention.
Being on a sail boat was definitely entertaining, the team had everyone participate in getting the sails up, more so because 8 people are better than 1 to get the sails up. Those things looked super difficult and you needed man power to get them up and hold it long enough to tie them on the side. Once we had set sail, I could finally relax and enjoy the ride. There was a bar on the boat, unfortunately not open bar on the open waters but then again it is NYC so can I expect any different.
The setting was a perfect opt for photos, both scenery and selfies included.
All in all, the experience was great. The tickets were not super expensive and coupons are easy to come by - use DSTCOU20 for 20% off for the Twilight Sail with Manhattan by Sail. https://www.manhattanbysail.com/ I would definitely suggest the Clipper City boat again so jump on board and enjoy the 2 hour ride.
